About Us

WHERE HOSPITALITY MEETS HERITAGE

OUR JOURNEY

Our journey begins on the coasts of the Indian Ocean, where spices once met stories, and trade routes carried more than just goods—they carried culture, flavor, and tradition. From the heart of the Horn of Africa, we bring you the warmth of Somali hospitality and the rich heritage of East African coffee culture.

Our Somali tea, or shaah, is steeped in centuries of tradition—flavored with cardamom, cloves, cinnamon and ginger, inspired by the ancient spice trade that connected Somalia with Arabia and India. It’s more than a drink—it’s a symbol of home, shared moments, and stories passed through generations.

We proudly serve single-origin Ethiopian coffee, grown in the very birthplace of coffee itself. Ethiopia’s highlands gave the world its first taste of coffee, and today, its beans continue to be celebrated for their bold character and deep aroma.

And then there’s Somali qahwah, a lesser-known gem. Made from coffee husks, it’s a drink that’s both sustainable and traditional—a subtle, spiced infusion enjoyed in Somali homes for generations.

At East African Coffee House, we invite you to experience the soul of East Africa—one sip, one spice, one story at a time.
